One subject I’ve seen debated a fair amount within the Tarrlok segment of LoK fans is what motivated him throughout the story. Namely, his end-goal. There are basically two factors that get keyed in on during episode nine: the ruler and the savior.

Personally, I think ‘a little Column A, a little Column B’ is the only explanation that can account for everything. (I also think it’s relevant that ‘weakling’ is not simply what his father and brother called him, but as far as he knows, the LAST thing Noatak said to him before running to his death.)
